MUSICAL BRIDGE

MUSICAL BRIDGE

Dense smog lies over the 15 million metropolis, which is lined with high mountains. We are in Tehran, a melting pot that forms the political, economic and cultural center of today’s Iran. In recent years, art in particular has experienced an exciting revival here. Many artists are slowly gaining new self-confidence. They know the thoughts, hopes and concerns of the people in Iran and involve their social environment in their work. While the fields of film and visual arts have long been represented internationally, Iran’s contemporary music scene outside the country is rather unknown. The independent collective House No. 4 wants to change this and is bringing a festival to Berlin with the ‘Days of Experimental Sounds’ (DOES), to present Tehran’s music scene to an international audience and to create an exchange on a professional, artistic and private level. House No. 4, which was founded in 2013 by the Tehran musician Peter Pirhosseinlou, has organized the festival four times in Tehran and has thus developed into an important contact point for musicians from the alternative and experimental music scene. At this year’s ‘DOES’ in the silent green Kulturquartier, the collective will be presenting exciting performances from different musical genres: electronic, experimental, alternative, audio-visual, contemporary, modern and experimental jazz. We are raffling off 1 × 2 tickets for this great music festival. Write us an email with the subject ‘EASY DOES IT’ to create an artistic and private level.
